Effective Treatment Plans

Genetic Testing (Genesight®)

Advanced DNA-based testing that helps identify which psychiatric medications may work best for your body.

Genetic Testing (Genesight®)

Genetic testing can provide valuable insight into how your body may respond to certain psychiatric medications. At Uplift Mental Health Services PLLC, we use GeneSight® testing to help guide medication decisions and reduce the trial-and-error process, supporting a more personalized and informed approach to your mental health care.

This type of testing can be especially helpful for individuals who have experienced limited success with previous medications, unwanted side effects, or difficulty finding the right treatment. Genetic testing is a simple, non-invasive process that can offer meaningful information to support your medication plan.

What to Expect From Genetic Testing

The GeneSight® test is a quick and comfortable process. The test is completed using a cheek swab, which is then analyzed to understand how your genes may influence your response to various psychiatric medications.

  • Simple cheek swab testing performed in-office or through a guided at-home kit

  • Analysis of gene-medication interactions to understand how your body metabolizes certain medications

  • Review of results to help identify medications that may be more or less likely to work for you

  • Personalized medication recommendations based on your unique genetic profile

  • Discussion of treatment options that align with your needs, preferences, and goals

Genetic testing does not diagnose conditions, but it can offer valuable information to support safer, more effective medication choices.

How Genetic Testing Can Help

Many patients find genetic testing useful, especially if they have struggled with side effects, multiple medication trials, or difficulty finding the right treatment. The test can provide guidance by highlighting medications that may be more compatible with your genetic makeup.

  • Improved clarity about which medications may work best for you

  • Reduced trial-and-error when beginning or adjusting medications

  • Insight into medication sensitivity or metabolism differences

  • Enhanced confidence in treatment decisions

Additional Supportive Tools

Along with genetic testing, we also offer guidance on mindfulness, relaxation strategies, and emotional regulation techniques. These practices can complement your treatment plan to support mood stability, coping skills, and overall well-being.

Our goal is to use every available tool to help you find a treatment approach that supports long-term healing, stability, and improved quality of life.
